What should be meaningful exchanges more often than not have become a wasteland of emoji-filled comments, personal attacks, and off-topic burns.As a result, many athletes just ignore comments on their social media posts altogether or only interact with verified accounts they know. Or even more extreme, they quit social media altogether.
