Ezel Family Vineyards and Winery was founded in 2006 in Çal town of Denizli by Mehmet ATILSIN, who started this job as a hobby with an initial production capacity of 100.000 litres per year. Mehmet was retired from Turkish Air Force Command in 2006 and went back to the lands he was grown up for producing high quality wine from his family's vineyards. Çal is a beautiful town with the untouched nature of human still. The history of the wine production and viticulture of Çal dates back about 5000 years ago to Ancient Ages when the name of town was called as ''Mosyna''. It has a Mediterranean and terrestrial climate at a high altitude of 850-1050 meters. Even in the summer period, night temperature is quite cool with approximately 15°C despite the sunshine in the morning with around 30-33 °C and this conditions significantly influence aromas, tannins and colour during the grape maturation phase (late August- early October) Terroir has a deep limestone soil and roots stay always in cool environment. Therefore, irrigation system is not used by farmers. Winery is located between vineyards, with a great scene on foothills of the mountains of Çökelez in Çal, Denizli, which is in the middle of Aegean Region. Once the hand-picked grapes are harvested, we move them to the process at latest in 20-30 minutes. This advantage gives us maximum flavour from grapes and prevent from any aroma losing. In course of time, as our customers' demands growth, our capacity has increased to 2 million liters from 2006 to 2019 with technological investments. Today, Ezel Winery has become one of the most important wine producers in Turkey.
