FABelgrade is a biennial regional convention dedicated to promotion of digital fabrication and fab lab concept and their application in various fields: STEAM - science, technology, engineering, math, education, art, design, entrepreneurship and industry.The very first FABelgrade was organized in 2016. Driven by its wide success, we prepared an even bigger FABelgrade2018 with renowned international speakers, amazing workshops and side events in the real makerspace/fablab at the premises.FABelgrade2018 took place on April 28-29 2018 in Belgrade Youth Centre (Dom Omladine Beograda) under auspices of the US Embassy in Belgrade with support of the Canadian Embassy, Embassy of the Netherlands, Institut français de Serbie, Ultimaker, Voda Voda, Biosense Institute, DIATOMIC H2020 project and Orion Telecom. FABelgrade2018 organizers were Fab Initiative (www.fablab.rs), Polyhedra fab lab (www.polyhedra.co), 3D Republika (www.3drepublika.com) and Association MAKER (http://maker.rs).The program includes lectures and panel discussions as well as a number of practical workshops and presentations of regional fab labs and companies in digital fabrication sector (3D printing and associated technologies). FABelgrade2018 Speakers were global and regional key players in digital fabrication: www.fabelgrade.io/speakers; including experts in 3D bioprinting, biofeedback, IoT, use of maker do-it-yourself (DIY) approach in science and education, entrepreneurs etc. FABelgrade2018 workshops took part at the real fab lab/makerspace made on the premises, comprising all the fab lab tools such as various 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines and DIY electronics.
