A FabLab is a foundation managing an open workplace where anyone can create their own 2D or 3D products by using 3D-printers, 3D-scanners, lasercutters, 3D-milling machines etc. Worldwide there are 360 FabLabs and this innovative network is growing fast. At least one day a week you can use the machines and support for free. They offer also training in using the machines and software, and guidance in developing a new product. In collaboration with the chamber of commerce, local government and investment organisations they are regional innovation centres where you can get research and rapid prototyping for a small amount.FabLab Maastricht is specialised in developing new 3D-printers and using new materials like ceramics, biorubber, food and granulate high-engineering bioplastics.
