Fair Trade Vision Burwood aims to raise awareness of the positive impact we can have on the lives of working people being exploited around the world through conscious consumerism. We are a student-run society based at Deakin University's Burwood campus passionate about promoting the benefits of fair trade. We run social and educational events to highlight social injustices and environmental sustainability. Our vision is to empower communities both locally, and globally for a fairer future for all.Deakin University is committed to Fairtrade and was granted Fairtrade accreditation in 2012. We were the 7th University in Australia to be accredited.As part of a Fairtrade accredited university, we promote the 10 Principles of Fair Trade by exploring issues such as child labour, gender equality and workplace conditions.
