Am in the process of developing Faith in Technology, a centralized IT resource for Connecticut churches. Faith in Tech's goal is to make technology more affordable for churches, as well as matching a ministry's needs with IT professionals' talents and passions. Compiling a list of IT people that churches can call upon. What can IT people expect? NO resumesNO interviews (maybe with clients, but not with me!) NO stress Instead, there will be honest conversations about what you really love and hate, personally and professionally, e.g.,: "I wish I could…" "It drives me nuts when…""If only…" The goal is to match churches' needs with your talents and passions. A job is a job & money is money, but there's nothing like getting paid for doing what you love! I'll want contact info with a boiled down list of education, jobs and dates, skills and/or certifications. Straight out of community college? No problem. Been in the biz forever and too young to retire? Great! Want to shadow someone on a job or looking for a mentor? We'll see what we can do! If a resume is easiest, that's okay, but something legible on a shopping pad is fine. Seriously. Handwritten, typed, faxed or emailed; unless someone's into web/graphic design or is an awesome word processor, I just want the facts, ma'am. That's the "no stress" part; you don't have to impress or convince me!
