The Falling Rock is a local, independently owned coffee shop, café and bookstore conveniently located in downtown Munising near the Lake Superior shoreline—a perfect location for both travelers and residents.We work hard to provide a diverse selection of new and used books, along with a special section dedicated to local authors and regional lore. We have declared ourselves as one of the Upper Peninsula's most unique bookstores, with over 30,000 titles in subjects ranging from Great Lakes shipwrecks and local Native American history, to New York Times Bestsellers and illustrated poetry books.We found that our coffee is inherently what connects people to our café, so we created Great Lakes Coffee Company with the goal of bringing the finest, freshest coffees from around the world to our customers. We support fair trade and our green coffee beans are carefully selected from their countries of origin by specialty coffee importers and roasted fresh. Each batch of coffee is roasted by hand using an "Ambex" gas-fired, drum roaster at our facility in northern Michigan.
