Public Safety - , Maryland, United States
It all started back in 1974 when a handful of men and women got together to discuss the needs of their community. These men and women had the foresight to see that their community was growing rapidly and would soon need a new fire and ambulance company to serve their needs. Starting in a barn where the Fallston Recreation Council now sits, these men and women took the needed training, then rode with the surrounding companies to gain the skills needed to support their new firehouse. They soon bought their first piece of apparatus: an ambulance. With great pride and concern for the well-being of their community, they manned their new ambulance. Since then, the dedicated men and women of the Fallston Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Company have built a main station and a sub-station at Upper Crossroads. The main station houses Truck 1331, Tanker 1321, Rescue 1351, Engine 1311, EMS Support Unit/ALS Chase Vehicle 1399, Supply 1381, Utility 1371, and Medic 1391. The sub-station houses Engine 1312, Utility 1362, and Medic 1392. The Fallston Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Company has grown with it's community from a handful of dedicated men and women to over one hundred firefighters, EMS personnel and administrative members. Each year, hundreds of hours are spent on training, maintenance, fund-raising and non-emergency community services, as well as hundreds more hours of emergency service to our community.
