Farmer to Farmer seeks to alleviate poverty through long-term partnerships with local institutions in rural Nicaragua by providing marginalized farmers with the opportunity of land ownership and by developing rural businesses to improve market access.Farmer to Farmer is a Business Affiliate of Partners Worldwide, partnering with two Nicaraguan NGOs: Acción Médica Cristiana (AMC) and Asociación Cristiana de Jóvenes (ACJ). Through these partnerships Farmer to Farmer strives to alleviate poverty and aid in the development of flourishing rural communities. We believe that God designed us to work as stewards of His creation. Faithful work is an expression of gratitude to God and ought to be done for His glory and for the benefit of others. Therefore, Farmer to Farmer believes that business is the best way to fight poverty. Two obstacles faced by the farmers served are limited access to land and poor agribusiness value chain development (poor access to markets and inputs). The two programs that Farmer to Farmer utilizes to overcome these obstacles are the Land Ownership for Landless Farmers Program and the Rural Value Chain Development Program. Each program utilizes a combination of strategies such as biblical worldview and stewardship training, business training, access to capital, and mentoring.
