The FFS Global register organization/Institutions implementing FFS approach across the globe
Farmers' Integrated Development Association (FIDA) is an South Punjab based people-centered development organization with a vision "Socio-economic empowerment of deprived people to exercise their civil rights and lead a dignified existence". FIDA directly engages with communities, implements Integrated Sustainable Rural Development and promotes citizen participation in rural governance combined with sustainable development solutions through ‘rights-based participatory development approach. In order to advocate for and promote rights based sustainable development FIDA works both at the policy and practice levels. At the local level, FIDA works with remote rural communities, especially marginalized group such as poor farmers, rural women and children, unemployed youths, farm laborers and other working classes. At the provincial and national levels, FIDA works and interacts with a wide range of stakeholders including civil society groups, organizations, coalitions and networks. How it has evolved, what was learnt by FIDA and what challenges it foresee are the key feature of this case study, which depicts how a small village level initiative has flourished in a decade time and explore the salient features and ingredients of its success.
