Nonprofit Organization Management - Trabuco Canyon, California, United States
Farmhouse Rescue began when the founder suffered a brain injury that caused memory loss. As she battled with resulting depression, she turned to horses for comfort. She rescued a race horse from slaughter and as she rehabilitated the horse, she realized that the horse saved her. She realized the therapeutic power of working with animals and Farmhouse Rescue was born. She rescued a pony, a pig, chickens and more. Farmhouse Rescue now operates a 30 acre ranch in Orange County with dozens of volunteers and with ambitions of expanding the program throughout the U.S.
