Faculdade Santa Cecília, initially maintained by the Educating and Instructing Society of Pindamonhangaba (SEIP), originated from the 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 to create a Higher Education Institution in the field of 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝘀.Having as their founder Professor Cynira Novaes Braga - Sister Maria Cecília, in 1973, the Franciscan Sisters of the Third Seraphic Order took the initiative to implant the college, whose motto is "𝘓𝘰𝘶𝘷𝘢𝘳 𝘢 𝘋𝘦𝘶𝘴 𝘱𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘦𝘪𝘰 𝘥𝘢 𝘈𝘳𝘵𝘦".The creation proposal was approved by the Federal Education Council on 01/22/75, according to Opinion 54/75, and subsequently recognized by Decree 80.617 / 77.It started its activities with the name 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗱𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗱𝗲 𝗠ú𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮 𝗖𝗲𝗰í𝗹𝗶𝗮 - 𝗙𝗔𝗨𝗠𝗨𝗦𝗖, in 03/1975, with the Artistic Education Course - Qualification in Music, Licenciatura. In 1981, the Music Course - Qualification in Instrument, Bachelor's degree was authorized, in addition to the Qualifications in Drawing and Fine Arts of the Artistic Education Course, Licenciatura, and, in 1987, the operation of the Qualification in Performing Arts was authorized. In view of these new courses and the prospect of creating courses in other areas of knowledge, the name Faculty of Music - FAMUSC - was changed to FACULDADE SANTA CECÍLIA - FASC.The Institution has always prioritized quality, and during its operation it spared no effort in order to boost the teaching of Art / Education, through Undergraduate, Extension and Lato Sensu graduate courses.FASC restarted its activities recovering the history of the foundation of the Faculty, without losing the focus on development and quality, through innovation and inclusion of new offers of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Lato Sensu courses, expanding the educational horizons of the Pindense society.
