The Federal University Lafia in Nasarawa State is one of nine new universities established in the first quarter of 2011 by the Federal Government of Nigeria. It is located in Lafia the capital of Nasarawa State in North Central Nigeria which is rich in solid minerals and agricultural products.The Federal University Lafia presently offers courses in the following faculties; Agriculture, Science and Humanities and Social Sciences.VISIONThe vision of the Federal University Lafia is to become a renowned and respected centre of learning, research and innovation, constituting a centre point for the economic and social transformation of the region. 2.2 MISSION and RELEVANCETo train top quality human resource for the nation and equipping the graduates with the relevant knowledge and skills required to excel in their fields of endeavour.To foster the economic development of the immediate environment and of Nigeria in general through the sharing and dissemination of scientific, technological, environmental and cultural knowledge. 2.3 PHILOSOPHYThe University's philosophy is to produce graduates that will have the spirit of integrity, innovation and excellence.
