Feeding Dreams Cambodia Volunteer Program:We offer volunteer experiences that make a real connection and difference while working personally with impoverished children who need lots of care, love and support.We welcome people of all ages and backgrounds; individuals, families or groups. Volunteering can be from 1 week to 1 month, with most lasting for an average of 2 weeks. We welcome volunteers year round with flexible start dates, and they are fully catered for, from airport arrival until departure. Please visit our website to learn more about volunteering at Feeding Dreams.What We Do:Feeding Dreams Cambodia is a grass roots school providing free education, school meals and community support to over 800 poor children and families living in Siem Reap's slums. We strive to keep families united, fight poverty, illiteracy and malnutrition, and help grow tomorrow's leaders. We provide the following free programs:Kindergarten ProgramEnglish Literacy and Numeracy EducationComputer TrainingSchool MealsFootball Program Health, Hygiene, and MoralityFamily/Community SupportTraining and Employment for Disadvantaged KhmersWe address issues of access and quality through an approach that emphasizes sustainable education for all and helping poor children realize their right to quality education. A daily, on-site, nutritious meal is provided, ensuring students get vital nourishment. This acts as a safety net for families and helps to keep children in school. Among the poor, there is often not enough food at home, so having a full stomach also helps children to concentrate better on their lessons.Our Community Support Program recognises that extreme poverty and hunger are commonly suffered by Khmer families, due to illiteracy, exploitation and lack of jobs for uneducated individuals. We remain focused on keeping families united by offering assistance in times of crisis and providing families small business opportunities and guidance.
