FerrySafe is a Lloyds Register Foundation funded project aiming to reduce the numbers of fatal ferry accidents and their resulting fatalities, most particularly on domestic ferry routes in developing countries.The project has been initiated and led by INTERFERRY, the global industry association of the ferry industry.The first part of the FERRYSAFE project will involve a detailed examination and review of the successes achieved by the government and ferry operators of the Philippines to try to determine the factors that has led to a remarkable reduction in casualties in recent years.
