Founded in 1964, Festival in the Park is a nonprofit which makes arts and culture accessible to a diverse audience in Charlotte. The nonprofit's family-friendly events attract approximately 200,000 visitors each year. All events are free of admission and open to everyone.The organization's signature event and namesake, Festival in the Park, is held each September in Charlotte's Freedom Park and typically features nearly 200 fine artisans as well as 1,000 performers on five stages throughout the park. The organization's spring event, the Kings Drive Art Walk, features about 100 artisans along the Little Sugar Creek Greenway.
