Founded by a team of biotech entrepreneurs, Fiddlehead Foundation's mission is to develop a supportive network of innovators that possess the skill sets required to catalyze the advancement of life sciences in the NYC hub. We provide educational forums for future leaders, skilled management and funding for early-stage technology, and facilitate the transition of later stage technologies/companies into the NYC ecosystem.Education - The goal of our education initiative is to provide the nascent NYC biotech hub a cadre of entrepreneurs who understand the many aspects of biotech entrepreneurship, ranging from accessing initial seed funding, building an intellectual property strategy, and managing projects to achieve significant milestones. Fiddlehead Foundation has already developed a set of propriety courses that can be offered to graduate students, postdoctoral fellows or academic investigators. Technology - While some NYC schools have the ability to fund early-stage scientific commercial development, the majority do not have the time or expertise needed to manage funded projects along an industrial development pathway. As a non-profit, Fiddlehead Foundation is in a position to support the institution by providing financing and professional project management to lead the development of early-stage science towards clinical proof of concept.Relocation to NYC - The Fiddlehead Foundation will actively work with ex-US bio-pharmaceutical companies and support their relocation or co-location into the US, specifically in the NYC area. This will enhance the caliber of the ecosystem's sophistication and support future job opportunities for new entrepreneurs being trained by the Foundation. As a non-profit organization, Fiddlehead Foundation works with other foundations, city, state and federal government organizations, and private enterprises to supplement, rather than compete with, the ongoing efforts to launch NYC as the next U.S. bio hub.
