Filmmakers For Conservation is a global community of passionate people who work in, or have an association with, the global film and television industry. The organization was born in 1999 out of a growing sense of frustration among many producers and directors that there was very little funding and airtime dedicated to films that dealt with conservation and the environment. FFC continues to work with the natural history industry to encourage coverage of conservation issues, with filmmakers to support their conservation-themed productions, with conservationists to tell their stories to broader audiences, and to educate viewers to assure they have appropriate venues to act when they learn from these films. FFC's members and supporters are essential to its mission, and to ensure the continuation of responsible wildlife, natural history, biodiversity, and environmental education through television broadcast, film distribution, and online multimedia.
