Finding Freedom was formed in 2007 to help people with addictions and mental issues by Tim Fletcher. He based his program on complex trauma after doing some research into Gabor Mate's complex trauma work. What he found is that 97% of people suffering from mental issues and addiction later in life suffer from complex trauma. The main root cause is never feeling fully safe in childhood. The the brain in constantly in flight, fight or freeze. From being a pastor, working in an addictions rehabilitation center to a registered counselor; Tim found that most people suffering from the 50 characteristics of complex trauma (This list has now been extended to 96). Finding Freedom does meet weekly in Winnipeg to hear Tim speak on different subjects. It is affiliated with the ReACT center, which is a day program. Online counseling is available for those who can not physically attend. YouTube houses all of Tim's Talks under Finding Freedom Media. We have grown and have Tim's intellectual property in a few different provinces and internationally. Help is here is many different forms. Our mission is to offer a safe, loving and respectful environment, and a program that addresses the biological, psychological, social and spiritual aspects of healing for people who suffer from addiction, trauma, and/or spiritual brokenness that they may experience a measure of freedom from the effects of these while becoming better equipped to face future challenges.
