It was truly a grass roots organisation: started by local Cessnock families, for local families. In 1983 the first accommodation service opened which was then called the Cessnock Hostel. Our organisation grew over the decades and in July 2013 it was renamed Finding Yellow. ‘Finding' means that the staff are focused on assisting and empowering our clients to choose their life's path; it suggests a search and an on-going journey. ‘Yellow' is a happy colour which lifts our spirits. It's associated with a bright summer's day, beautiful flowers and is an optimistic and cheerful hue.Finding Yellow has an unwavering commitment to discover better resources, develop stronger community networks and improve facilities for our clients.
