The Fine Textiles company was launched after the closure of large textile factories, including Bonair Knitwear, where Mamade Nohur had worked since the 1990s.It started with six employees in 2006 in a small rented building in the Saint-André morcellement. But today, it employs over 65 people, two-thirds of whom are expatriates, in a larger building located in Plaine-des-Papayes. Making around 50,000 "polo shirts" each month, Fine Textiles director Mamade Nohur - a textile engineer in the field for nearly 25 years - does not intend to stop there. "I'm running out of space and I plan to have my own building built soon to expand my business," he says.The company aims to continue improving product quality, to be efficient and performant.
