FinMetrics is a Swiss company offering financial expertise in valuation and risk management & governance. The key value proposal of FinMetrics is the alliance of strong financial engineering and expertise with the ability to provide the implementation as well, in a pragmatic, swift and economically efficient way. For that purpose and over the last 19 years, FinMetrics has been developing a light platform called FinBoard, which consists in Apps that are capable of performing key IT and métier functions: (1) connection and aggregation of any data flow (back-office, mid-office and front-office systems, ERPs, TMS, flat files, spreadsheets, manual inputs...), (2) calculation engines for valuation, risk measures, stress-test scenarios, (3) reporting and instantaneous translation to Excel, (4) automation functions (automatically generating FX hedging positions based on the risk policy with the possibility to fix different "calling" levels), (5) alerting systems (messaging, limit alerts, etc...), (6) KPIs, KRIs and KAIs with drill-down capability (a true cockpit for all levels of decision-making), (7) a Mobile App to get your cockpit "on the road" to get updates, alerts, to drill-down into any issue, and to illustrate interactions in meetings.One of the major threats in today's financial World is the dependence on spreadsheets. They are a superb prototyping tool fostering the creativity of smart users, But they also pose a threat when used in production mode and by others. Institutions accumulate thousands of "critical" spreadsheets, i.e. (1) linked to a service to a client, and (2) where probably the only person to master the file is the original author. But big systems are not agile by construction and not fit to quickly try new functions. FinBoard can integrate very swiftly any spreadsheet development on the platform and still allow users to get the ownership back of the results in Excel instantaneously for their own use, with all prior steps are now robust.
