Food & Beverages - Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom
The founding team at Finnieston Distillery Company are inspired by a passion for Scotch Whisky and a deep connection to Glasgow. We aim to re-invigorate the world of Whisky by challengingtraditional perceptions of how it should be consumed. As we attempt to overthrow the image of tweed suits and cravats, we are rising above the bigoted opinions of those who believe there is only one way to drink our national beverage. We offer a fresh perspective on the familiar because we truly believe that people should be free to drink what they want, how they want and when they want it. While the traditional Whisky brands lack a sense of adventure, Finnieston Distillery Company thrives on being undeniably different and intensely innovative. In such a way, our new cocktails cater to a wide range of palates and appeal to a variety of consumers. Striving for this adventure started our attempt to bring back ‘The second city of the Empire' that Glasgow once was, as we are harnessing the spirit of Glaswegian innovation and entrepreneurship that drove the powerful era of industrialisation. During this dynamic era, a Stirling native by the name of Ebenezer Connal had a thriving business importing tea in 1824 - which is where our story begins. In an attempt to convert another family business, he created a whisky distillery by the docks of Glasgow. Ebenezer's new whisky, infused with exotic herbs and spices, as well as a taste of heather, produced a distinctive drink unusual for his generation. After closing down in 1827, we are now bringing Ebenezer's vision back to life. With our new and modernised vision, we are the embodiment of the inclusivity synonymous with Finnieston; a diverse range of inhabitants in age, gender, race and socio-economic background. We are a brand for all, and we want to keep it that way.
