Finovio, based in Zurich, Switzerland, is a start-up itself with the idea to establish a crowdinvesting platform which brings together start-ups and the crowd. With this platform Finovio wants to contribute to Switzerland's position as innovative and attractive business location. Finovio partners with many universities and their start-ups centres and is embedded in the overall start-up ecosystem – the start-ups presented on Finovio have usually completed a coaching at an incubator or university start-up centre. Finovio has developed Trekox, a tool which allows start-ups to document their progress, to complete missing components in their business model, to eliminate potential risks and to get immediate feedback from their coaches or other stakeholders. Many start-ups are putting a lot of efforts into product development and tend to forget other factors that are of particular interest to potential supporters or investors. But sooner or later almost every start-up will have a need for external financing – Trekox will prepare them for this crucial step and help to make this process as efficient as possible. Moreover, it allows to start-ups to get listed on a watchlist for potential investors and to share specific company information with interested supporters / investors. With the tool the due diligence in the context of a financing solution will become more structured, consistent and efficient for both start-ups and investors.
