Taking inspiration from Fehr and Schmidt's 1999 model design, Finsmith Tech™ intends to further develop alternate rational models; rather than only viewing game-theoretically optimal outcomes as rational, we analyse experimental, real market outcomes before designing and building a model to explain the rationale behind market trends. This model can then be applied to the same or similar markets in order to predict future trends, knowledge which firms can utilise to make optimally profitable decisions.As we are a non-profit financial technology research group in early stages, our first model is currently underway; its intention is to focus on the equities market, and we hope to develop and algorithmic model to predict equities/equity index market movements.Should this be successful, applications of such developed technology are limitless – including predicting consumer behaviour; numerical success of different organic growth decisions made by firms; and effects of national/global events on financial markets (for example, estimating large firms'/conglomerates' growth rates resultant of M&A decisions, and thus calculating predicted values such as forecasted share price change). The list is continuous.Whilst inspiration was taken from Fehr and Schmidt, this technology as an aspiration began in September 2020; this is when Finsmith Tech's founder started preliminary research into alternate rational model design. Our current model designing is based on and incorporates our founder's published research, which can be found on his website.With students attending the universities of Cambridge, Durham, Nottingham, Birmingham, Lincoln, Imperial College London, King's College London, University College London, the London School of Economics, St Andrews and Warwick University, from a range of different backgrounds and countries, we are a diverse and accomplished collective.
