Fireside is an off-the-grid (I.e no tech, no cell reception), off-the-record, immersive and all-inclusive (all meals, alcohol/drinks, cabin lodging, etc included) startup retreat for entrepreneurs, founders investors and journalists / media. We host a diverse crowd of 400 in the Canadian wilderness for a cottage weekend on our private lake 4-hours from Toronto, Canada. Our attendees come from all over the world.The weekend is a mix of informal talks, round tables and sessions for attendees mixed with family-style cottage meals, waterskiing, sailing, rock climbing, land sports, yoga, meditation, campfires, social events and, of course, whiskey. Our alumni include top tech founders (YC alum, 10x exits, top 30 under 30 etc), venture capitalists, leading business and tech journalists, top podcasters and more. Our thesis is simple. You can go to 100 tech and startup conferences, get as many business cards and drink tickets as you'd like, but if you want to truly form relationships with top people in our community, you need to disconnect to connect. That means a weekend of no cellphones, no pitching, no business cards, no name tags and no powerpoints. Just real person to person connection.It's a weekend for founders to get their headspace back through yoga and meditation, to connect with others in the community while waterskiing together, to spark thought provoking conversation around the campfire after speaker sessions and to connect with investors at morning yoga or at the dinner table.We're hosting fireside this Sept 6 - 9, 2018 in Palmer Rapids, Ontario.
