First Command Educational Foundation (FCEF) is a 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to improving financial readiness through education and scholarship opportunities. "To educate those who serve" is not just the mission of First Command Educational Foundation (FCEF), it's our reason for existence. FCEF is committed to ensuring individuals, at all stages of life, have the knowledge and skills to make informed, intelligent decisions about their financial future. Over the Years: • We have awarded approximately $4.3 million in scholarships since 1983. Of those, $3.6 million was awarded to military recipients. • We have educated over 64,000 persons on financial topics since 2001. Of those, 47,700 class participants were military members. • We manage and administer six scholarship endowments. Scholarships We award an average of $175,000 each year in various scholarship. We have several partnership scholarships with community organizations and institutions around the nation. Education Each year, our staff or trained volunteers provide an average of 70 separate presentations on a variety of financial topics to the military, and federal employee audiences. In 2009, FCEF launched our educator-developed and approved "Money Matters" curriculum to help high school students acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to take control of their financial future. Our "Military Money Matters" includes five military-specific modules in addition to the 12 basic modules. And this year we introduced our new smartphone app, "SavvySaver," to help people learn some basics about finances. Our educational presentations are offered free of charge to public schools as well as military organizations and families.
