At First People Project, we are passionate about two specific areas:MAKING FILMS There are thousands of stories to be told about the incredible people who have called Australia home for 50,000 years. Stories that all Australians should know. We want to show Australia and the world that Aboriginal and Torres Strait traditional culture is a beautiful and complex weave of art, lore, culture, language, tradition, stories and dance. HELPING YOUNG INDIGENOUS PEOPLE ACHIEVE THEIR GOALS Whether young Indigenous people have gone through an Indigenous scholarship program, or have finished school in their local community, they often need intensive help to achieve their goals. Many want to be back home in their communities to re-connect, but then find it hard to make the move to the next step. They have the idea in their heads, but often don't have the connections, life-experience or role models to make it happen.

The First People Project is a non-profit organization based in Sydney, Australia, dedicated to promoting and preserving the cultural heritage of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The organization's primary focus is on two key areas: making films that showcase the rich and diverse stories of Australia's indigenous people, and providing support to young Indigenous individuals to help them achieve their goals. Through their filmmaking initiatives, the First People Project aims to share the stories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples with a wider audience, highlighting their unique cultural practices, traditions, and languages. By doing so, they hope to promote a deeper understanding and appreciation of Indigenous culture among Australians and people around the world. Additionally, the organization provides assistance to young Indigenous people who have completed their education and are looking to take the next step in their lives. They offer guidance, mentorship, and networking opportunities to help these individuals achieve their goals and become successful members of their communities.
At First People Project, we care deeply about two important things: making movies and helping young Indigenous people succeed. We want to share the amazing stories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who have lived in Australia for 50,000 years. We believe that these stories should be known by all Australians and the world. We want to show that Indigenous culture is beautiful and interesting, with art, stories, language, traditions, and dance. We also want to help young Indigenous people achieve their dreams. Some have finished school or received a scholarship, but they need extra support to reach their goals. They may want to return to their communities, but struggle to take the next step. They have ideas, but lack the connections, experience, or role models to make them happen. We want to help them make their dreams a reality.
