The First Tee of Silicon Valley impacts the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character and instill life-enhancing values and through the game of golf.Youth Development through Golf throughout Silicon ValleyParticipants learn to appreciate diversity, resolve conflicts, build confidence and set goals for their future. Our life skills curriculum focuses on four life skills categories – interpersonal skills, self-management, goal-setting, and resilience skills – and Nine Core Values – honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, courtesy and judgment. In addition, The First Tee Nine Healthy Habits, which are organized under three categories of physical, emotional and social health, include: energy, play, safety, vision, mind, family, friends, school and community.The key components of our programming consists of classes, certification, outreach, instruction, events, and opportunities. We offer classes in the spring, summer and fall over a 8-week period and 1-week camps in the summer. Classes are from an hour to an hour and a half long. The cost is $95 for each class session or camp. Contributions are welcome. The First Tee does not turn away any student because they can not afford the class. Scholarships are available upon request.
