Fish Design and Architecture is an architecture, design build company, striving to deliver thoughtful, functional spaces that add lasting value to their inhabitants. As designers and architects, one of our goals is to simplify design and construction process whenever possible for less error, and less waste of resource. Building Information Modeling (BIM) is implemented to all projects informing the design process to explore design possibilities and to address technical issues in advance. We invest significant amount of time on practical topics - zoning ordinance, building codes, materials, and project management including the construction cost analysis. The goal of the research is to truly eliminate assumptions in the process. Actual materials are purchased, tested, rendered in 3d. Construction cost estimates are established with actual installation and material costs and it often requires the collaboration with tradesmen. Most importantly, we thrive seeking beautiful design solutions to build and test the idea from different perspectives, function, aesthetics, maintenance, and construction cost. We love modern designs and we believe it is a style that we are confident to deliver the project with our best skills and knowledge. "The modern style" is a very broad term and it is open to endless variety of design possibilities instead of confining a project into a certain formality. In many ways, the term, modern architecture means design freedom to us. Residential remodeling, multi-family house, retail restaurant, tea and coffee shops are a few areas that we have built our good records. FDA is a 2013 Design Boston Biennial finalist and a Massachusetts certified Minority-owned Business Enterprise.
