Seeking: Asylum, A Home, A FutureA globally oriented refugee photography projectUsing only disposable cameras we sought to bring awareness to the worst migration crisis the world has seen since WW2, from the eyes of those affected the most. Fish Out of Sea is a non-profit project that aims to elevate vulnerable populations life through the medium of photography and provide viewers a different perspective on their hardships and plights. Each photographer is given a disposable camera and one week to show life through his/her eyes. Our initiative gives participants a chance to show their personal viewpoint through their day to day struggles. It allows for the ability to share and express hardships through the aesthetic distance of the lens and empowers the participants in a newfound way that gives them and the audience a new way to engage. Our aim is to assist the voiceless in telling their stories. We seek to reach new communities and bring vulnerable population's stories into the spotlight and enable a more intimate encounter between them and the public at large in order to raise awareness and encourage innovative ways to help.
