Fistudo is a social media platform that will host and display all kinds of events going on and around Villanova University. Fistudo was first conceptualized in 2013 during the 2013-2014 24-Hour Imagination Quest carried out between Villanova University and the University of New Haven. Fistudo won first prize in the competition and further development of a business plan began. The business plan was analyzed by multiple business consultants, financial analysts, software engineers, CEO's, and other business and technology experts around the Villanova area throughout the Spring of 2014. During that same time, the concept was entered into the Villanova Student Entrepreneurship Competition where it earned the first place for its advertising video and second overall place for the competition and the Burke Family Prize which amounted to $3,500. The prize money was invested in making Fistudo a reality. Fistudo LLC was founded on March of 2014 by Villanova alum Zachary Knight Marks and Villanova student Lincoln Escobar. During the summer of 2014, Fistudo LLC partnered with Ciright Inc., a technology company based on Conshohocken, to produce the mobile application and all of the database management that came with it. The project is currently on track to be finished by December 2014 and ready for launch during the Spring 2015 semester.
