Entertainment - Oslo, Oslo, Norway
Launched in 2019, Fjord Oslo is a free public festival devoted to the collective experience of art. For three days, the event transforms the Norwegian capital's cultural quarter into a large-scale outdoor exhibition featuring some of the world's most renowned artists working with the medium of light. Ranging from projections and interactive sculptures to immersive audiovisual installations, Fjord Oslo celebrates and explores the possibilities that exist at the crossover of technology and creativity. The first edition, taking place on Oslo's Harbour Promenade on 1–3 November 2019, is curatorially themed in response to Oslo being named European Green Capital 2019, with each artwork exploring our relationship with nature and the environment. Featuring contributions from an international coterie of artists (including representatives from France, Estonia, Russia and Hungary), Fjord Oslo aims to become Scandinavia's most visually spectacular and conceptually wide-ranging showcase of light-based art.
