As one of eight Fleet Readiness Centers tasked with providing maintenance and repair services and only one of three providing in-depth modifications and overhaul of Naval aircraft, engines, weapons systems and components, FRCSE is committed to protecting the environment, while providing timely and cost effective maintenance solutions to the Fleet. To best meet this objective, FRCSE is dedicated to the environmental, energy and economic performance goals of Executive Order (EO) 13423, EO 13514, EO 13693, and compliance to International Organization Standardization (ISO) 14001 and the elements of the Environmental Management System standard. FRCSE considers continuous improvement through compliance audits and training as vital to its future and key to mission sustainability at the least cost. The command attributes its success by improving the environmental acumen of production, adhering to the requirements of ISO standard and developing solid relationships among its environmental team, production and strategic business teams, Occupational Safety and Health office, and engineering and logistics personnel, and with external stakeholders from the Naval Air Station (NAS) Jacksonville Environmental Office, the City of Jacksonville, and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP). As a result of exceptional performance in environmental quality in 2015, FRCSE was recently awarded the First Coast Manufacturers Association (FCMA) Environmental Award for the second consecutive year – the first organization to do that in the 20-year history of FCMA, and selected from a panel that included the Area Director for the FDEP.
