Medical Devices - Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
In the earlier stages of the COVID-19 Pandemic, FLOWO2 was founded by graduate students at the University of British Columbia. FLOWO2 created a drop-in-place solution that confers ventilator grade patient monitoring to an already existing forced-air breathing device. In addition to being useful during the COVID-19 pandemic, the FLOWO2 system is ideal for use in low-resource settings where $50,000+ ventilators are not practical at the best of times. The FLOWO2 system gained international recognition when it was ranked in the top 10 of over 1200 global ventilator designs from 94 countries. FLOWO2 is currently working to optimize the design of their system for use in low-resource settings.
