Incorporated in 1996 and headquartered in San Jose, California, FlowWise Networks provided layer 2,3 and 4 wire speed high-performance router acceleration products that were self-configuring. FlowWise Routers / switch's enabled enterprises to enhance the performance of their networks, with virtually no disruption of service. FlowWise products have received many honors, including Hot Product of the Year (1999), Best of LAN Times, Best of Show (NetWorld+Interop 98), Users Choice Award (CMA Telecom 98), the CRN Test Center's Recommended Product (Comdex 98 and PC Expo 99), and Best Product of Networks Telecom '99. The Company raised financing from a combination of venture capital sources and corporate investors, including Battery Ventures, Venrock Associates, InveStar Capital, Mitsubishi Electronics, TL Ventures, and Alta Partners.
