Travel plans are booked through "micro-moments" - an intent rich moment when someone acts on a need. This is especially true for 'things to do' such as events, activities, tours and more, which have the largest margins (10-30% compared to 3% for flights) but booking agencies struggle to be relevant during these micro-moments. Flypside is the first social booking platform of 'things to do' with the goal to become a Google Adwords-like bidding platform for real-life bookings. The application enables users to share their current or future plans to then start meeting the right people who will also be there and continue communicating while there. From a social perspective, this can provide a backpacker with friends everywhere she plans to go and a conference attendee with the right connections at the event. Chat drives engagement and enables Flypside to become the relevant booking platform of things to do through our "What's On" stream in a highly targeted and non-confrontational way.
