FM Coatings was founded in 1988 by Michael Ford, Sharon Ford and Michael McNicholas painting plastic components for the automotive industry.1988 - Origin1990 - Began painting plastic components for the automotive products.1992 - Began flocking parts for the automotive industry.1996 - Began tampo printing.2001 - Michael McNicholas became shareholder and Director.2002 - Relocated into a new facility with total focus on plastic painting.2003 - Installation of first robotic paint line.2007 - Relocated into new facility and installed fully automated paint line.2007 - Became FM Coatings (Ford & McNicholas).2008 - FM Coatings continue to establish itself a major supplier of plastic trim components to the automotive industry2012 - Installed second fully automated paint plant designed for Piano Black.2017 - Opened second Factory with four booth fully automated paint line dedicated to Exterior trim components2018 - Installed first UV cure Paint line for JLR and Nissan UV Piano Black2020 - Installed second UV cure paint line.The company has also painted components for a number of white goods manufacturers.Over the years the company has seen significant changes within the plastic painting industry with a focus on more technical advanced paint systems and a variety of finshers. We have developed our process and knowledge to meet these changes, resulting in the move to a new facility in 2007 with a fully automated robotic spray plant.As well as staying up to date with technical advances, the key to the company's success is customer focus and appreciation of the need to be flexible. Part of this flexibility involves giving customers a complete service from design through to delivery.
