In September 2012 an ATR 42 took off from Yangon Airport. The event marked the start of a new chapter in Myanmar's aviation history, as it was the first commercial flight of FMI Air Ltd.FMI Air currently operates about 19 flights a week between the commercial hub, Yangon and the capital city Nay Pyi Taw. With the addition of three Canadian manufactured CRJ-200 aircraft soon FMI Air will add jet transport to their capabilities.New facilities in Naw pyi taw are being established with hangars and offices as well as new offices in a variety of cities country wide.
