The Functions of Art in a Global Context (foa-flux) focuses on global and glocal processes, as well as on changes in the (visual) arts.Foa-flux is a platform for critical reflection, research, and action. We interrelate art practice, art theory, phenomenological studies, and interdisciplinary approaches. This platform contributes to the ongoing re-evalution of given reference systems and to the discussion on art worldwide. Foa-flux collects, generates, and exchanges knowledge in accordance with the need for comparative studies. Our work is aimed at selective descriptions rather than in-depth analysis. The platform is structured into different sections, each highlighting specific questions and aspects of the functions of art.
