The FOCIR was established in 1995 as a result of the coordination of various Catalan associations wishing to enhance their international presence and that of Catalonia.The Federation is, on the one hand, a source of information and services for Catalan organisations looking to establish or improve their international presence and activity, and, on the other hand, a centre for studies on public diplomacy and paradiplomacy. AIMS:To be present – To stimulate and provide resources for the participation of Catalan organisations on the international stage.To establish a discourse – To support and study the contribution of Catalan associations as a whole to Catalonia's foreign relations (paradiplomacy) and to the global agenda.To create a global citizenship and network – To become a platform of reference in the globalisation of Catalonia's associations while promoting a form of citizenship with a global dimension.
