It all starts with a passion to travel and explore cultural heritage. Folkaloca highlights three important components which are the fundamentals in its mission. First, the word folk that represents traditional art or culture, specifically in the form of performances in this case. Secondly, Folkaloca focuses on local communities and diverse ethnicities as important partners and stakeholders. Finally, Loka, which is derived from the Sanskrit language (read as loca) and means a universe or a realm of something. Together, Folkaloca facilitates as a digital platform for culture enthusiasts, to be able to easily find cultural performances during their trips. We also aim to present the story of a cultural performance from the perspective of the community/performer. Having done that, Folkaloca promotes cultural tourism as well as to support the preservation of the practice of cultural heritage.
