Fondazione CIFE - International Center of Photonics for Energy - is born in 2011 from the collaboration of CNR (National Researh Center) , Fondazione Politecnico of Milan and Pirelli & C S.p.A. The foundation is a non profit entity which targets promotion, transfer, evaluation and valorizaton of research in the field of photonic applied to renewable energies, most recently widening to terrestrial and submarine optical communications.Important experts in the field of research and industry from nanophotonic field have contributed to Fondazione CIFE consitution, sure that the application of the achieved results can bring a meaningful contribution to the italian scientific, cultural, economic and social development.
