Museums & Institutions - Venice, Veneto, Italy
The Giancarlo Ligabue Foundation is a cultural organisation which operates principally in the sectors of archaeology and anthropology inspired by the 40 years of activity of the Ligabue Study & Research Centre. Based in Venice, it was founded in January 2016 by Inti Ligabue, who financed it in memory of his father Giancarlo. According to its Charter, the role of the Foundation is "to encourage the performance of cultural promotion and research with particular, but not exclusive, focus on the sectors of archaeology, anthropology, paleontology, natural sciences and figurative arts, also through events open to the public, themed exhibitions, conferences, congresses, publications and publishing activities, scientific consultancy, restorations, philanthropy, in Italy and abroad". The Giancarlo Ligabue Foundation publishes "Ligabue Magazine" – the six monthly magazine published in Italian and English – which, through the contributions of leading collaborators, examines and describes the most important new cultural and scientific discoveries.
