Footsteps Foundation was set up in 2008 in order to help children and young adults with neurological disorders to access intensive physiotherapy at the Footsteps Centre. Footsteps Foundation awards grants to families who would otherwise struggle to fund this private treatment, enabling the children to maximise their physical, cognitive and developmental potential. The charity also contributes towards the cost of specialist pieces of equipment which is used and recommended by therapists at the Footsteps Centre. Our vision is of a future where all children affected by neurological disorders are given the opportunity to reach their maximum potential and are able to develop physically whilst improving confidence and independence. Our mission is to improve quality of life for children and young adults with neuro-motor disorders, enabling them to receive the intensive physiotherapy they need, regardless of whether their families can afford private treatment or not. Footsteps has brought a ground-breaking Polish physiotherapy programme to the UK. Without any funding from the NHS, the centre provides access to a team of highly experienced physiotherapists who use a unique and specialised piece of equipment called the Spider. While Footsteps offers fantastic value for money, some families cannot afford private treatment like this. Footsteps Foundation has been set up to help these families.
