Established in 2006 The Footz Foundation roots began in Founder Darrell Reid' hometown of Freehold New Jersey. After winning Superbowl XLI Reid decided to give back to the community that helped him get to where he was in life. He wanted to be a positive role model for the youth in his hometown and give them a feeling of hope and empowerment. In his own words from 2006 "I feel blessed to be playing in the NFL and I'm glad that now I'm in a position to help other people." Reid felt the best way to do this was to team up with other foundations and local youth organizations such as the YMCA and Boys & Girls Club. Since its inception the foundation has gone on to work with a number of organizations and reach thousands of underprivileged youth across several states including but not limited to NJ, Indiana and Colorado. The foundation holds a number of annual events including a Free Football Camp in the summer, a back to school backpack and school supply giveaway in the fall, and a toy and coat drive during the winter holidays. The foundation looks forward to working with more organizations and corporations to educate and empower more and more youth across the US and eventually the World.
