Organised by FRANCISCA International, the winner will represent Singapore at itsworld finals in New York City which also marks the 30th anniversary of the renownedevent which brought its winners not only lucrative contracts with Ford Models but a shotat instant global fame. Each year, the search attracts hundreds of thousands of applicants.For 2011, over 70 countries will fly their winners to New York in July to vie for thetitle of the ultimate Supermodel of the World. The first place winner will receive a$250,000 contract with Ford.Established in 1946, Ford Models was taken over in September last year by Russianbillionaire Vladimir Potanin. In March, FRANCISCA International was awarded therights to organise the world-renowned search following the appointment of CalvinCheng, a Nominated Member of Parliament of Singapore as the official licensee of theFord Models Supermodel of the World for China, Singapore and Malaysia.
