Public Policy - , New York, United States
We are the Education Quality Practicum, the public policy consulting arm of Fordham University's Social Innovation Collaboratory that seeks to work with external partners to ensure access to quality and affordable education to students in the underserved communities of NYC. To achieve this, we will be establishing a new charter school system in the Hempstead, Long Island area that raises students' civic engagement and college readiness. The Economic Planning team conducts research regarding the economic outcomes of charter school educations to inform the decision-making of our client. The Public Policy team researches local and state policies regarding education-related programs, charter school requirements, districting, and funding for addressing local constituent needs. The Partnerships team develops strategic relationships with organizations, officials, and community leaders and nurtures such relations focusing primarily on the support of program development and communications.
