Formula SAE at VCU is a multidisciplinary organization with a mission to design and build a Formula-style race car from scratch. This organization brings together students and faculty who have a passion for engineering and cars. We enable our members to gain real world experience in design, business, and engineering that applies the theories we learn in the classroom. The car is built from scratch in house at VCU; we completed our first car and were able to compete in the summer of 2017 in Lincoln, Nebraska. We are currently working on our second car, VCU-02, and have registered to compete in Lincoln, Nebraska in the summer of 2019.
