Forum Heritage Services is a small consultancy which offers a wide range of services nationally, providing assistance and guidance in understanding and managing historic areas, buildings and sites. Our aim is to provide a professional, independent service to clients in both the public and private sector. Set up in 2001, FHS specialises in characterisation-based work with a core emphasis on the morphology and archaeology of place, and how this contributes to present day character and sense of place. We aim to provide independent conservation advice based on our professional experience – our passion and interest in preserving and enhancing the quality and character of the environment is our driving force. We work in partnership communicating with all parties involved to achieve a successful outcome to our projects. Our work includes: archaeological desk-based assessments; characterisation projects; conservation area appraisals; conservation management plans; design and access statements; historic building appraisals and recording; policy documents; and urban design frameworks.
